Von Wolfenstein
History:
The Wolfensteins are an old Clan specialized in hunting and combating demons and similar otherworldly beings.
Their origin dates back to the early 14th Century, the year 1313 to be exact, when their founder Georg von Wolfenstein took up his sword to vanquish monsters that terrorized the local townsfolk.
It was during one of these battles that the seasoned knight faced off against an opponent unlike anything he had ever encountered before…He and the demon held battle on top of the highest mountain, trading blows and spilling blood, when Georg lost his footing.
With a vicious grin the demon kicked away Wolfensteins sword and put a feet on his chest. Raising his arm for the final blow the knight’s face was a mask of determination still.
Grimly he eyed the monster with his right eye, for a veil of blood covered his other one, while a guttural laughter echoed its way into the night. It was in the very moment the monsters claws pierced his armor, when the Georg was surrounded by the purest of light.
The demon rushed backwards, still his skin got burned by the holy light that eradiated from Wolfenstein…In his hour of need god had not forsaken him, just like Georg had not forsaken the towns people.
Bathed in this aura of holiness the knight struck true and sent the demon back into the abyss from where it came. It was then that the radiant glow subsided leaving Georg with three things.
A black amulet, a shining sword…and a glowing eye! The nobleman first noticed this change in his appearance when he made his way back to the townspeople, whom he thought would be delighted to see him, instead of the monsters.
But instead of smiles, they greeted him with curses. To the common folk, his eye marked him as trader, as one who lives in friendship with the demons that ravaged the land.
So Georg left the town in brooding thought. He clearly had been blessed by the true one, but the worshippers of the deity he had sought to protect called him a monster now.
Georg’s steps where heavy when he climbed up the mountain, the wolves that watched him from the shadow of the night as sole companions. There he lay down his torn body to rest, but the night of wonders wasn’t over yet…
“Georg von Wolfenstein, I call upon thee…” [/colorWeary the knight rose again to see who was in need of his services, when a beautiful lady, clad in sparkling white armor stepped into his vision.
But what was most stunning about her wasn’t her appearance, or her looks, it were the great white wings, stretching out of her back. Georg stumbled in awe and lowered himself onto one knee. [color=blue]“O valiant champion, you fought bravely today against the ones that seek to destroy. In the moment where most men would despair you held onto your will; desire to save…
And therefore the almighty one has blessed you with the power and tools…The heavenly sword, a protective necklace and the eye of an angel.” The messenger put a hand on Georgs Head.
“Go forth now, Georg von Wolfenstein and know that you are a champion of the light, defender of all that is worth to be protected. You and your heirs shall be known as Slayers of the demonic kind!” The angel then kissed Georg on his forehead and vanished.
This marked the beginning of a new era for the people living in the middle of Europe.
Covering his Angels Eye while around normal people Georg fulfilled his destiny and rose to be one of the greatest demons slayers and founder of a Clan specialized in the art of exorcising in the history of mankind…
Hundreds of years later, in the late 19th century the clan of the von Wolfensteins still exist, and although they only number a few people they are a force to be reckoned.
During the course of the ages the weapon and armor of the mighty knight Georg von Wolfenstein have been forged into new blessed weapons, each as individual as their wielders, they only share one common trade…
The Angels Eye.
These are grim days for the ones fighting the hordes of demons that are roaming the world… there are few with the power safe, and many with the will to destroy… Only seven members of the proud Wolfensteins remain until this day.
Headquarters / Home:
The von Wolfensteins home is their castle on the very mountain where Georg was granted his powers. This fortress is located in the middle east of Germany, and a sanctum for all who fight against or flee before the Demons of the Millennium Earl. The castle itself has a highly technological headquarter deep in its catacombs, as well as trainings grounds, an own hospital wing and even something similar to a hot spring. Above ground it looks like a beautiful, yet intimidating building of gothic style. Von Wolfensteins castle is lone stronghold of light in the otherwise dark surroundings.
On another note the castle always stands in contact with members and facilities of the Black Order. Although this old German clan is not a direct member of the Order they still unofficially joined their ranks and so these two warriors of the same crusade stand and fight together.
Members:
Theodor von Wolfenstein, 50 years old, current ruler of the clan.
Theodor is a wise, old man, who fought countless battles. He saw more people dying than he can remember, and still he bears the hope in his heart that they will be victorious over the Millennium Earl and his minions.
Theodor is a tall man, with the statue of a warrior, and the heart of a lion. He enjoys a good laugh and is overall an optimistic person, always there to go the extra mile for the cause.
The leader of the von Wolfensteins has a brother named Alexander and is married to Christiane, with whom he has three children. Theodor mastered the Angels Eye at the age of seventeen and is known for his skilled swordsmanship.
In these days he acts as a general against the demonic legions.
Christiane von Wolfenstein, 47years old, wife of Theodor
Christiane is the vice leader of the clan, and mother of three children. A gloomy woman and not a friend of pretty words she is Theodors realistic and sometimes pessimistic wife and advisor.
Christiane was known as the prodigy of the Angels Eye and not only mastered this blood trade, but was able to convert her other eye as well, thus unleashing her full fighting potential and earning her the nickname “Queen of Daggers”.
Due to her excessive use of the Angels gift she has gone blind. Christiane von Wolfenstein is one of the eleven members in the von Wolfensteins family history that was able to awake the twin Eye.
Katharina von Wolfenstein, 27years old (eldest daughter and first born child)
Katharina is the first born child of Theodor and Christiane and a powerful warrioress. She loves flowers and likes to flirt, despite her cold and stern appearance. She is also very cheerful and likes to tell jokes. The woman also reveres her Uncle Alexander who taught her how to fight and celebrate life. Katharina fights for her dream to make the world a better place to bring up the children she plans on having.
Her mastery over the family “curse” has grown to such extent that she is able to see through the disguises of her demonic adversaries.
Katharina fights with a Claymore as tall as she is, her stalwartness and relentlessness have made her the “Iron Maiden”.
Jack von Wolfenstein, 20years old (first born son and second child)
Jack is a tall man with a gloomy appearance. Despite that he is an extroverted person, much like his older sister, but unlike his sister he is rather shy around members of the other gender.
Jack lives to protect the ones he deems precious, and it is rare that he deems a cause unfit for his blade. As a swordsman he rivals his father’s legend with the potential to become an even greater fighter.
Just like his father he mastered the family’s eye at the age of seventeen, extending its combat abilities at the age of nineteen.
Robin von Wolfenstein, 17years old (second daughter and third child)
Robin is a slender woman with orange hair, which she usually styles in a strange fashion, wearing dark dresses. She takes after her mother, by being a very rational person and one of few words, but one should not mistake her as being shy.
Robin knows what she wants, what she needs to do, and how she can get it done; her favorite hobbies include reading, playing the violin and burning stuff.
Unlike her siblings or parents her Angels Eye only grants her minimal increase of close combat abilities, but rather mastery over the element of fire.
She is also an expert alchemist and very fond of dolls.
Alexander von Wolfenstein, 45years old, brother of Theodore
Alexander is a freakishly tall man, handsome and somewhat insane. He loves to dress in a suit, wearing a red cloak and hat, his personality is rather twisted.
On the one side he is very polite, a true gentleman abhorring the horrors of this war, but on the other hand he loves the thrill of the fight.
Displaying the arrogance that goes hand in hand with the power he possesses by mocking the enemy and showing of how little concern he is, that there actually might be someone strong enough to beat him.
Alexander wields his Zweihander like a child its toy, his efficiency of the Angels Eye are similar.
Just like Christiane he belongs to one of the eleven that have awaken the Twin Eye, but like only two people before him his eyes don’t forsake him, rather they keep evolving.
Alexanders fighting potential is that of a great general, what keeps him from bearing the title is his insane nature that lives for the thrill.
So far only two people were able to truly find their way into his heart. One is his niece Katharina, the other one his girlfriend and almost wife Jessica.
Jessica Wingale (von Wolfenstein), 37years old, “wife” of Alexander
She’s a good natured woman with the power and passion to tame a man like Alexander.
Also she is already thirty-seven years of age she still looks like she was in her late twenties, due to her witchcraft.
Jessica fights with her rapier and magic, having displayed efficiency and willpower time after time, after time. Her magic is based on the manipulation of the wind and the change of her appearance.
Jessica is also highly skilled in the fields of espionage and baking.
The Angels Eye:
The von Wolfsteins greatest weapon against the demons is their sacred heritage, which is similar to a parasitic Innocence.
This Eye manifests itself around the age of eleven and greatly improves reflexes, perception, and even improves strength and speed while activated.
There are different stages of the Eye, similar to the synchronization rate.
One: The appearance of the eye changes, and a wing form around the user pupil.
The user starts to anticipate the opponent’s movements, due that it appears as if the bearer of the eye has great reflexes.
Also speed and strength slightly increase, due to the effect of the activation.
Two: Appearance changes again, this time the pupil forms to a cross. There are two known variations, either the eye turning black, with a white crucifix like pupil, or the other way around.
The level of anticipation increases and also the knowledge to special fighting techniques that are hidden within the eye unlock.
Again the level of speed and strength of the user increase, but the back draw, the gradually decreasing eye sight, starts.
Three: The eye transforms again, this time to a pitch black pupil with a strangely shaped circle around it, which continuously spins.
This marks the mastery over the eye, true anticipation becomes available, as well as the ultimate secrets of the von Wolfenstein.
Combat against lower class demons becomes a piece of cake, as the muscles of the body are being pitched to truly monstrous levels.
Only 13 of the 169 Wolfenstein members that have existed up until today have reached this state. Five of them just recently, some speculate that this is stage is only granted during the darkest times, where all light appears to fade.
Blindness: Once the user becomes blind, the Angels Eye ceases to boost ones physical strength.
But something like a new sense awakes and seemingly like divine intervention makes the body react to dangers, which results in an attempt to dodge.
It’s like a guardian angel, if you want.
Angel Eye Techniques:
Die Kraft aus dem Inneren, Inner Vitality:The user gains a minor regeneration ability, bleedings will stop faster, little cuts heal, if enough time, concentration and stamina used even a broken bone may be straightened.
This is a passive ability
Accel: The user accelerates to such a high speed that he is able to create after images and for inexperienced combatants it might even look like teleportation, which of course it is not.
A flaw of the Accel is for example the inability to change the direction once started. Say if the enemy was to jump out of the straight line between the Accel-User and himself, the Accel would have been useless.
Zerreisen, Sunder: The user’s parasitic eye utilizes ones stamina and converts it into pure energy, which is then send to the arm or into the weapon.
There it is usually released in the form of a sickle of light, sundering apart what is in its way.
Waechter, Guardian:The user’s parasitic eye utilizes ones stamina and converts it into pure energy, which is send then into the arm or the weapon.
There it is released in a variety of shapes, but always used to shield someone or something.
Third Stage Greater VitalityThe user unleashes the full regeneration potential of the human body and is able to close up wounds of respectable size, even heal broken bones and cure the own body of poison.
But this takes a heavy toll on the body and can never be done in combat, for the concentration and stamina that are required for this procedure are too great.
It has been passed down from generation to generation as an oral myth, that there were cases in which the body activated this skill itself even while the actual user was unconscious.
Accel Turn: The advanced method of the Accel allows the user to accelerate while having used Accel. This results in an even faster movement, or even the change of directions.
But moving things are hard to stop, the Accel Turn possesses the same weaknesses and the risk of not being able to stop when needed arises exponentially.
There is the shameful testimony that someone accelerated into the enemy’s blade, a boulder and such…
Schutzengel, Guardian Angel:The ultimate Eye technique in which the parasitic power within the body absorbs the force and viciousness of the enemies attack and converts it into power.
The strain that is put onto the eye is so great, that becomes bloodshot and the users’ eyesight disappears for some time, based on the absorbed power.
But in return this power nourishes the own resources.
