Komui's Office - Report

*Oliver walked out of the Infirmary, still laughing at Kaele's shout. He stopped by the door, where he had dropped his backpack. He took his notes and files out, trying to organize them in a way so that they seemed like a well crafted report. After messing around with the papers for a couple moments, he hesitantly left for the Chief's office. Oliver was nervous, he'd only spoken to Chief Komui about eight or nine times. And every single one of those times, Chief Komui had been serious for about 80 percent of the time, and then the other 20 percent was spent watching his sister complex and other insanities. He was mainly nervous because the last time he saw Chief Komui, Komuirin 5 had been introduced.*

*He knocked on the open door as he walked in.* "Chief Komui? Are you busy?"

*Komui was snoring heavily from inside the room. He apparently ahd fallen asleep again. Luckily, Reever, who was coming to his office with a stack of papers to sign, had a key.*

"Hey Oliver. Mind holding these for a second so I can get my key out?" Reever asked

*Oliver was confused.* "Eh...? Sure..?" *He took the stack of papers as Reever took out his key. Reever unlocked the door, and Oliver wasn't surprised to see the floor covered in papers. Chief Komui was snoring away with his feet on the desk.*

"Of course..." *Oliver mumbled to himself. He was willing to let Reever have the honors of waking him up as he held the papers.*

Reever walked up to Komui and in an attempt to wake him up gently spoke, "Supervisor Komui, wake up."

*When that didn't work, Reever took Komui's bunny cup and poured him a fresh cup of coffee, hoping the aroma would wake him. Nothing. Then he proceeded to pour the steaming cup of coffee onto his head. Remarkably, even that didn't do anything except get him to move his arm a little.*

Reever lowered his head in shame as he was about to say the one thing he hated to, "Supervisor Komui, Lenalee is getting married."

"LENALEE!"cried out Komui before pointing at Oliver, "Your the one she's getting married to?! ARRRG! HOW COULD YOU MARRY MY LENALEE!"

*As Reever stood there expressionless while Chief Komui ranted, Oliver was like a deer in headlights. Whenever he'd come to see Komui before, the Chief always had a line of scientists waiting for approvals. Oliver had never witnessed this method of waking him up.*

*Oliver walked up to his desk, setting Reever's papers on another pile of papers. He figured right then was as good as ever.* "Chief Komui? I have the report for the mission in England..."

"Please don't take my Lenalee away from me!" shouted Komui as he dropped to his knees and held his hands together like he was begging, "Call it off! Call it--. Wait, Why do I feel like I'm burning?"

*Reever opened a cabinet and took something from it. He walked back to Komui with some burn medicine and handed it to Komui.*

He glanced at Oliver before saying, "Lenalee isn't getting married, Supervisor. Oliver just came here to give you a report, but when I woke you up you managed to knock your coffee all over yourself."

*Yes Reever just made a little lie, but Komui probably wouldn't realize it. He took the medicine, put it on himself, then sat down in his chair now looking very serious.*

"Speaking of reports, you've got to sign this so it can be sent to the Asian Branch." said Reever.

"Ahh...umm....yes," said Komui hoping that he could at least stall from doing his real work, "Oliver, did you and Ms. Nakamura discover if those rumors about the growing building in Eastwick are true?"

*He pulled out the case file from on top of his desk and glanced through it. No one is ever sure how he manages to find anything within the mountain of papers, but he seems to have some sort of hidden organization within it.*

*Oliver silently observed as Reever calmly dealt with the slightly insane Chief. He heard Komui say he name, and he twitched.*

"... Did you and Ms. Nakamura discover if those rumors about the growing building in Eastwick are true?" *Komui asked, pulling files out of seemingly nowhere and flipped through it.*

"Huh? Oh, no, Kaele and I didn't ever get to Eastwick. There was this, uh, masked man fighting an akuma in th early morning in a town that hadn't been there when we'd stopped to rest. Kaele went to help, and uh, I watched, but it was..." *Oliver didn't know how to explain it in words, so he slipped a paperclipped bunch of papers out of the file for Chief Komui to see. Oliver for some reason could write better on paper than he could speak.* "Here, just read that. It explains everything."

*Oliver could have sworn to hear Komui groan, but maybe he was just expecting one from the sleepy Chief.*

*Komui groaned ever so slightly. He was tired of reading since he had made an effort (although very small) to go through some of the papers on his desk that morning. He was beat. But so he could avoid going through the paperwork that Reever brought he glanced at the report. It was well written and organized. Maybe I should make him my secretary. thought Komui to himself as he read through it.*

"Masked man you say?" spoke Komui as a glare rolled over his glasses (the light made a glare), "I noticed you didn't describe his mask or his name. Could you tell me those things?"

*Though all the information in the report was accurate enough, not much detail was mentioned when it came to the man. Komui wasn't sure if it was who he was looking for or not, but either way, if Oliver knew who it was, he should have reported it immediately while he was on his mission.*

"Uhm... Well, as far as I know his name is Masque. The mask is white with silver edges and silver designs on it. There's a crescent moon in the silver decorations. It's weird... It would seem like the mask is made of metal, but it moves like a bare face would. And the mask makes facial expressions, too!" *Oliver explained, in the most detail he could remember. He found it easier to be around Komui when he wasn't acting insane or the sister complex.*

*Reever, meanwhile, was silently waiting his turn. He sort of remembered a file about a masked man with the same mask, but it had been so long ago and he had gone through so many papers that he dismissed the thought.*

*Komui's eyes glinted. This was him alright. It had to be. He stood up quick and pointed excitedly at Reever.*

"Find everything we've got on Masque! I'll call Bookman!" said Komui as he slammed a fist down on his desk, making cracking sound as papers flew everywhere.

*Komui looked down at where his fist landed. Surely enough, there was the phone, smashed beyond repair.*

"Uhh....eheh. I'll go find him." Komui said quickly as he was leaving. He then poked his head back into the room, "Oliver, don't go anywhere."

*Then off he ran, quick as a demon. Reever shook his head as he picked up another phone that that Komui had forgotten about by the cabinet.*

"Hello, this is Reever. Our Supervisor wants the paper work on that masked guy we were trying to track down a while back." spoke Reever as he listened to the bickering on the other end, "I know there is tons of work to do. Yeah. Uh-huh. Well, just find the thing and we can take a break tomorrow, I promise. What do you mean I never keep my promises?! Just find the stupid thing for Komui! I don't know where it is! Just check the archives! What do you mean our Supervisor was supposed to organize it?! Oh crap, I'll be right down."

Reever hung the phone up and looked at Oliver, "Your are lucky you only have to work with him occasionally. He's a great inspiration though, and a genious, but sometimes that ain't enough. I'll be back up in a while when I get the paperwork."

*Reever then left and shut the door behind him as he headed for the Archive room.*

*Oliver was silent and blank as Komui and Reever left, and expressionlessly chuckled at Reever's comment. He sighed. Even though he was a finder, he was most likely going to have to help Chief Komui do something. He waited a couple moments, and then started to wander around the room aimlessly. What am I supposed to do? Why didn't they give me something to do? Oliver thought for a moment. ... Why do I want work?! I just got back!*

*Oliver sighed, and glanced to his left, feeling devious. He tip-toed over to the Chief's desk and sat behind the pile of papers. He made a humming sound, relaxing in the deep chair. Wow, this thing sure is cozy... I can understand why Chief Komui always falls asleep... The long mission and trip back was finally getting to him, and he could feel himself dozing off.*

*A few moments later, Bookman entered the room followed by Komui.*

"Where is the Finder who saw him?" Bookman asked Komui, not seeing Oliver.

"Well he's right here. Eh?" replied Komui, gesturing to the empty chair where Oliver had been.

*Oliver heard voices in his dream, and woke up. He peeked up over the papers and saw the old man they called Bookman and Chief Komui. He gasped, and tried to slither around the desk unseen, but the papers crinkling under his feet gave him away.*

"Eh?" said Komui as he walked over to his chair to see Oliver. "What are you doing back here?"

*Komui then picked Oliver up by the back of his collar like a kitten, forcing him to stand.*

"Here he is." said Komui proudly.

"Your the one who saw Masque?" questioned Bookman seriously.

*Oliver was frozen, afraid of him overreacting the way he did when his sister was involved. When Komui reached for his shirt collar, he tightened up. He caught a glimpse of the old man he usually saw hanging out with Lavi, and suddenly felt like the witness to some crime.*

"Your the one who saw Masque?" *The old man asked. Oliver nodded, but answered out of his mouth as well.*

"Y-yes, I saw him and sort of talked to him and watched him fight..." *He said, feeling like he was explaining a little much for just a simple yes or no question.* "Why..?"

"Hmm..." said Bookman as he was thinking some things over. "The reason I ask is... Komui, please let go of the young lad."

Komui quickly let go of Oliver's collar and responded, "Oh, right. Please have a seat Oliver."

Bookman continued, "As I was saying, I asked because this person is difficult to find. Their are less than a handful of confirmations of his existence. I, for one, have seen him once, and only once when I was young. His entire history is scattered, and very little of it has been documented. Komui-san, however, has an interest in the objects he possesses. They could help the Order combat the Akuma and Noah."

*Once Oliver was released, he took a seat and listened to what Bookman had to tell him. Throught the small summary, he didn't understand why Kaele wasn't here too because she had talked to him and fought with him. Oliver had just observed.*

*He had a question in mind, but asked a different one instead.* "What about the objects?"

Komui then responded seriously, "While the members of the Science Department and I were conducting research on an artifact that could have had the potential to allow us to track Akuma, much like Allen Walker's eye. Masque came in and swiped it, despite the fact we were in a maximum lockdown Laboratory when it happened. Nothing was damaged or touched, yet he still managed to enter without sounding any alarms. How he knew about the Laboratory or the artifact was there is still unknown, but it could be vital to our cause."

*Oliver pondered about the burglary, but didn't have much he could say. He decided to ask the first question he'd come up with.*

"Why are you asking me this? I think Kaele would know more about him that I do..."

"Well, thats because we just found out about him from your report." responded Komui, "I needed to confirm that it really was him. You can fetch her and bring her back here. Where is Reever with the report anyway? There's a picture of him that was captured by one of the cameras from that day."

*Komui scratched his head as he grabbed the nearby phone, just remembering about it. He called down to the Science Department and had some words with Johnny, revealing that they all had to stop work to look for the file that Komui was supposed to have archived. He placed the reciever back down and looked up at Oliver.*

"Why don't you go get Kaele. I need to help find the file because of someone's misplacing of it. Heh heh heh." Komui was laughing nervously because it was his own doing.

*Komui left the room, leaving Bookman and Oliver alone in the room.*

*After Komui left, Oliver felt nervous with the old man. Everyone seemed to know him except for finders, and it seemed unfair. But he was in a shy mood, so he didn't feel like asking. He left in silence, making his way back to the infirmary and to where Kaele was. He didn't see her anywhere, and didn't have any idea where to look.*

"Kaele? Kaele!" *Oliver called. He was immediately shushed by the nursing staff, and continued to call for her in a voice even quieter than a regular talking tone.*

*Bookman stirred, sitting up on the couch as he heard Kaele and the Finder walk in. It was embarrassing to note that his age was catching up with him, but he knew it couldn't be helped. He stood up so that the two could sit. Komui still hadn't arrived. Bookman began his line of questioning at once.*

"What do you know of this 'Masque' person?" Bookman asked Kaele bluntly.

(( I don't know, he's old? .w. ))

*Oliver led Kaele in, and noticed that she was gaping at the vast amounth of space in Komui's office, yet the Chief had filled it up easily with papers and such. When Bookman broke the short silence, Kaele jumped.*

*Kaele, meanwhile, thought on the top of her head what she could say.* "He's no exorcist, but he knows a lot about mysterious objects. He has a bunch of things on his person that are very different, but I doubt you or anyone other than Masque could find them."
