Coffee Break

*Just then, the door opened behind them, revealing Jerry had apparently left the kitchen for a few moments and was now right behind them.*

"Just what are you doing in my kitchen?!" shouted Jerry angrily.

*Sparks turned around, his hands flung up in the air surprise as he heard the door open and saw Jerry's face.*

"Uh-uh-um...I was just...I-I mean were just-!" shouted Sparks in a flurry since he didn't have time to speak.

Just then, Jerry's hand was thrust in front of Spark's face as he interrupted, "Hold it right there! I get whats going on."

*Jerry placed his hands on his hi[s and pouted looking up and down at Kimiko and Sparks. Then out of nowhere he started smiling and giggling like crazy.*

"Your trying to get some alone time, aren't ya? Oh Sparks, you dog!" shouted Jerry winking at them.

*Sparks was frozen in place. He wasn't sure if dealing with Jerry would be worse than dealing with Nikola, but at least this way, he'd be able to live a little longer.*

While Sparks was only frozen on the spot, Kimiko's face had turned bright red. Not this again!

"N-No...it's not....y-you don't....understand.....we....I.....!" she stuttered, but she could hardly get anything out, making her blush even more.

Jerry just kept giggling at them.

Kimiko held back a groan. Jerry had nearly scared her to death when he'd come back in behind them, and now they were getting teased again.

Then Jerry looked at them serious again, "That is why your here, right? If your trying to pull a fast one sneaking into my kitchen and stealing some food, I'm gonna have to report you to Komui, ya know?"

*Oh crap. Oh crap, crap, crap. thought Sparks to himself, trying to figure out what he was going to do.*

"Um-um," stammered Sparks as he gave a quick glance at Kimiko and then looked back at Jerry as he frantically said, "Y-you don't understand! If Nikola finds us together she could get fired! You know how Nikola is with inter-personnel relations!"

Kimiko turned to face Sparks, her mouth hanging open in shock. He's actually going along with this?! She thought, looking back at Jerry, waiting for a reaction.

Kimiko swallowed hard, and decided to play along. She took a step forward and, looking up at Jerry, spoke, "W-We swear we weren't here to steal any food! Honest! But c-could you please not say anything about this? I..."

She forced herself to pout a little, and continued, "I don't want to leave!"
Huh. Maybe I could've been an actor.

She knew her cheeks were still red but to her own surprise, she was actually a bit glad about it. It could be to their advantage if they were able to convince Jerry that this was the "truth".

"He is a grouch, isn't he? I swear, anytime he sees me, he gets all upset saying I'm not presentable or some other nonsense. Anyway, I got to get back to what I love doing, so you kids can stay," spoke Jerry as he walked to get back to work, "but don't touch the food! If you do, you're out, Nikola or not. So have fun you too!"

*Then Jerry went right off to work, slicing, dicing, sautee-ing, tasting, taking orders. You name it, and he was doing it, like lightening. No wonder all the food could be cooked by him, even Allen's dishes. Sparks looked from Jerry to Kimiko and blushed deeply before looking back at the kitchen, and smelling everything to take his mind off of what was happening.*

Kimiko smiled, relieved that they were off the hook, and waved a quick goodbye to Jerry. For a moment, she watched him cook all by himself. It was INCREDIBLE what he did - he cooked for the ENTIRE Order, BY HIMSELF! She still couldn't believe it. And he made all this delicious food, too! He cooked by himself and still created this mouth-watering quality in the food!

Her gaze wandered over to Sparks, who had looked over at her. When she saw him turn away blushing, her own blush came right back and she looked away shyly. Well....THIS sure was awkward.

Trying to get her mind off of the situation, she wondered outloud, "So...I wonder how long we'll have to stay here." She knew her the burning blush on her cheeks was still there, but she couldn't help it.

"Hmm. I hadn't thought about that, actually." said Sparks aloud, unsure of how they were supposed to know when he was gone, "Hey Jerry. Mind telling us when you see Nikola leave?"

"Sure, no problem." replied Jerry, making Sparks think they were set until he continued, "Right after I cut the potatoes, peel the onions, tenderize the steak, fry the....."

*Hearing Jerry continue talking about what he had to make made Sparks realize this was just going to be one of those annoying days.*

"I don't think we're getting out of here anytime soon," said Sparks to Kimiko, "Oh well, lets make the best of it."

Kimiko looked back over at Jerry, letting out a small sigh, and then back at Sparks. She was a bit tempted to peek out of the door to see if Nikola was gone, but she forced herself not to.

The aromas of the kitchen were all mixing together now that Jerry was cooking again. She almost wanted to eat again, and wondered just HOW Jerry could work in here without being constantly hungry.

"So...what do you mean by "the best of it"?" she asked curiously, holding her hands behind her back.

Sparks looked at Kimiko, getting hungry by the smells of the food, "We're in a kitchen with food being prepared by a brilliant chef when we have not yet to eat a proper meal. I think that'd be a good way don't you?"

Kimiko blinked, and a smile appeared on her face. She nodded enthusiastically, looking around her to get a better look at everything.

There were kitchen utensils scattered about on the counters, and multiple ingrediants waiting to be made into some sort of amazing dish. Her stomach had started to growl a little, and she suddenly had a craving for something...spicey.

"Hey Jerry. Think you could make us something, too?" asked Sparks smiling.

"Sure thing, hun. Just tell me what you want?" asked Jerry as he was preparing some stew, "Oh, I'll be right back."

*Jerry noticed someone was at the front and went to take their order.*

"Alright! Something is finally going my way, today!" cheered Sparks, smiling a storm.

Kimiko only laughed, smiling widely. At least he was cheering up now, despite the stress. Though she had a feeling that she shouldn't worry too much about him...

She shifted a little, curious as to whom Jerry was serving at the moment. She couldn't see the person clearly, so she gave up on it.

She decided to make up her mind on what she wanted. Spicy, spicy...oh, curry! Or maybe even some kung pao chicken...! she thought, her mouth watering just thinking about the foods.

"Ok lovebirds, what'll it be?" asked Jerry on his way back to fix something up for them.

Sparks blushed slightly as he spoke, "Uh-umm. I'll have a steak, well-done, a baked potato with sour cream and chives, and a milk shake."

Jerry nodded as he picked up a wooden spoon and pointed it at Kimiko, "And what about you, sweetie?"

Kimiko blushed from Jerry's earlier comment, but tried to hide her embaressment.

"A-Ah...I'll have some curry, VERY spicy please, a side of steamed rice and lemon chicken, and...just some water for me. Thank you!" she said, smiling at Jerry.

"Ok sugar, coming right up." spoke Jerry as he went right off to work on the food, though you couldn't tell because he was also cooking everything else at the same time.

*Sparks was still blushing as he took a look around. On some walls near a cutting board there was a list of favorite meals, a huge shopping list, and a picture of @#@% ((its just a nude guy, but Sparks is very straight)). Sparks looked away slightly blinded. Jerry really enjoyed his privacy in the kitchen. Sparks' eyes were still open wide after seeing that. *

Kimiko took in another deep breath of the aromas in the kitchen, then began to take a closer look at the space around her.

She saw that Sparks' eyes were wide open, and he was still blushing a bit. She blinked, a little bit confused, then turned her head in the general direction of the picture. Little did she know, she had NO idea what she'd find.

*Sparks noticed Kimiko look at the area where the picture was. And frankly, he couldn't get the imagery out of his head.*

"Thats....erm.....one big shopping list, eh?" asked Sparks shakily in an attempt to try getting him to think about something besides food and nude men.

*Unfortunately, there wasn't much else to think about here.*

Kimiko's face turned a bright shade of crimson upon seeing the photo, and she turned her head away abruptly. She did NOT need to see that. Although she wasn't exactly "shocked" to find that here. It.....suited.....Jerry and his....personality.

Kimiko's gaze darted up to meet Sparks, but quickly met the ground again. "Uh, y-yeah. I've never seen a list that long before." she murmured, trying to get the imagery out of her head.

Well.....this is incredibly awkward.

"Ding! Foods done! Eat up kids." spoke Jerry aloud as he handed us plates.

"How'd you make that so fast?" Sparks asked astoundedly.

"I always have things cooking, hun." smiled Jerry as he went back to work.

Kimiko looked down at the food, murmuring, "N-No way...so fast?"

She picked up a fork and took a bite. Instead of saying anything about, she simply began to eat it. There wasn't much else she could say about it except....delicious!

"This is great." said Sparks as he sat down on the floor and started eating.

*The steak was perfect, the potato was heavenly, and he never quite had a shake like that one. He could have said he loved Jerry is it wasn't for the fact he liked women.*

"And after you two are done with that, I got you some desert." spoke Jerry in a luvey, duvey sort of voice as he headed back to the other food.

Kimiko had almost ignored what Jerry said after - she was enjoying the food too much - but did cringe a little at his tone. He was STILL going on about that, huh? Oh well. Nothing much she could do right now.

She took a couple gulps of water, quenching the spice of the curry, then took a large bite of her lemon chicken. She stopped for a moment, realizing that she might be acting quite rude right now.

"Guess what kids? I think I just saw that old grouch left." called out Jerry from the front as he started toward us, "Ready for dessert?"

*So, he wasn't joking about that. thought Sparks to himself as he finished the shake.*

"The food was excellent. I'm glad we're able to get out of here." spoke Sparks as he stood up.

Kimiko let out a small sigh of relief - Nikola was finally gone. THAT was a load off of her back.

Seeing Sparks stand up, she followed his lead. She'd like to have some dessert, but under different circumstances. She wasn't quite sure if she could take anymore of this misunderstanding. It was just....embaressing!

Jerry was pouting at the two of them. "You're leaving already? How mean!"

Kimiko smiled apologetically and said, "Thank you for the food. It was very good, and I'll be sure to have dessert next time!"

"Fine. You can go." pouted Jerry, "But I'm not letting this cake go to waste!"

*Jerry shoves a box in Sparks' hands.*

"Eat it whenever you want, hun. Take care." waved Jerry as Sparks walked out of the door, holding the cake.

"Man he's pushy. Well, at least we have cake for later." Sparks said to Kimiko, "Lets get back to the Innocence Wing."
