Medical Wing 4 - Innocence Wing

"I wanna see it," responded Toshi a little upset, "but Sparks says I can't go into Ayane's room."

*Then Jacob turned around quickly and walked up to Kimiko.*

He whispered, "He can't go in there because Ayane is overly promiscuous with almost anyone who enters the room. We're afraid she might scar him for life."

Kimiko blinked at Jacob and replied quietly,
"I see. ...I can understand why you won't let him go in. Ayane is a bit....um....."
She couldn't find the right word to describe her, but she was sure that Jacob understood what she was saying.

*Jacob nodded toward her before sitting down to work again. Not much was happening on the screens, but currently he was watching Marie in action as he meditated, wondering what he could hear.*

"Could you bring it out here so I can see it?" Toshi asked curiously.

*He wondered what his face looked like. Was it like skin? Rubber? Leather? Was the shape like a human? Or Like a Halloween mask? He had to know.*

Kimiko turned back to Toshi and fiddled with her fingers.
"C-Can I....? I really don't know if I'd be allowed to do that, with everything that's going on."
She blinked. She didn't want to get yelled at again by Nikola. She didn't want that again.

Jacob then spoke from his seat almost as though he could read her thoughts, "If your worried about Nikola, he's got no jurisdiction here. We're directly funded by Komui, which is why we can afford all of this equipment. Its also why I'm able to connect to the golem network from here."

Toshi then put his hands together and begged, "Please."

Kimiko held back a small sigh. At least she wouldn't get yelled at again. She then stared down at Toshi, who had started begging her to go see Masque's mask. She felt her heart waver; he was so cute!
"....Alright. You can see it." she replied, giving into the begging and smiling down at him.

"Yeah!" Toshi shouted as he jumped for joy.

*Jacob smiled and shook his head, wondering what outcome this would present.*

Kimiko chuckled a little, then began to walk out of the room.
"Follow me." she said, looking back and smiling at him.
He really was quite happy about it. For a second, she wondered just how long he'd been here at the Order. After all, he was so young.

*Toshi followed along all happy with giggles. He'd never seen the inside of "Ayane's" room. He'd been watched too carefully by the other adults, so this might be his only chance. Plus he was curious about how the mask looked.*

*The in tire time Yan was lost in thought until Toshi disturbed her of his shouting she then went over to a wall and leaned ageist it wile crossing her arms and went back in to thought again*

Kimiko continued down the hall, glancing back at the boy once in a while. She couldn't help but smile at him. He was so full of energy.
I'll just bring the mask out. she thought, thinking ahead a little.
She couldn't let Toshi go into Ayane's room. Even if she'd only been here for a short while, she sure didn't want to scar the poor boy for life. She shuddered a little at the thought, then shook if off and kept going.

(THAT'S RIGHT. I'M STILL ALIVE. *faints*)

"Did you see it before? Huh?" asked Toshi excitedly as they approached the door, "Is it scary? Is it funny?"

Kimiko looked back at the boy and thought about it for a second. She hadn't seen it for very long; she'd been more focused on the fact that Masque didn't have a face.
"It's very.......unique, I guess."
She pouted her lips a little, trying to think of a better way to describe the mask.

((wow this must be a long hallway....lol))

"I can't wait to see it!" shouted Toshi excited.

*In the back of his mind he was also excited that he was gona get the chance to be a bad boy and sneak in Ayane's room. He didn't know what was so bad about her, but he also wondered why she never came out of there. It was yet another mystery the grown-ups wouldn't let him figure out.*

By now, the two had reached the room. Kimiko reached for the handle, then turned her head to look at Toshi.
"Toshi, STAY OUT HERE." she told him in a firm voice, opening the door and shutting it behind her. For a moment she wondered if she should put something up against the door if he DID try to get in.
"Please exuse the intrusion." she said, walking further into the room.
She looked around for a brief moment, then saw Masque's mask. Sparks was in here, too. It looked like he was doing some monitoring. How was she supposed to get the mask? She glanced to the side a little, wondering if Ayane would suddenly pop out. It's not that she didn't like her, it was just that Ayane was a little..........what was the word......seductive? To ANYONE, even.

*Sparks looked at Kimiko as she entered, wondering what she wanted. Masque saw her too and took and interest.*

"Hello there young lady. Is there anything I can do for you? I mean after I'm placed back onto my body, that is, since i can't exactly do much yet." spoke Masque smiling, making the silver crescent design stand out in the light.

Sparks then looked at Masque slightly annoyed at his impatience, "Your body is healing right now, so unless you allow yourself to heal properly, you'll probably collapse once your outside of the tank." He then looked at Kimiko, "What do you need Kimiko?"

*Masque pouted slightly when Sparks said that, especially since Masque had endured far more than they knew. So instead he stayed quiet and watched. Sparks didn't know whether something had happened or whether Kimiko was just curious about the situation, but either way, he wanted to know.*

Kimiko blinked and stuttered for a reply, inwardly slapping herself for not thinking of an excuse. Plus, she was a little startled by Masque's mask. It was odd to see it talking with a body.
"Ah...um...I......C-Can I see the mask? Er, Masque's mask?" she stuttered, fiddling with her fingers.
Baka! You can't be so flimsy! she told herself, waiting for a reply.

"Umm, I have no problem with it, but I was just going to figure out what happened and all." spoke Sparks, surprised by the question.

Masque, on the other hand, wasn't amused, and he expressed it sternly, "Excuse me miss, but this isn't a mere 'mask'. This is my life force. Without it I am nothing, just as without my body I am nothing. I am not a toy to play with."

*Sparks wasn't sure just what to do at this point and stood silent, his mouth slightly open in shock. So that explains it. thought Sparks to himself.*

Kimiko blinked, a little startled, the bowed deeply.
"Y-Yes. I'm sorry. It was my mistake."
She looked back up at Masque's mask, then quickly glanced over at Sparks. He looked shocked. Kimiko had a bit of a troubled look on her face.
"I hope I haven't troubled you. And if I have, I'm sorry." she continued, looking over at the mask with a slightly guilty look. She should have known better. Masque needed that mask to LIVE.

Masque then changed his attention to Sparks, not even acknowledging Kimiko's apology, "Now, what was it you wanted to know?"

"Umm.....err. I wanted to know exactly what happened when you fought the Akuma." Spoke Sparks, steadily aware of the tension that filled the air as he avoided the question of Masque's mask.

"Oh. Is that all? I would have been sure Kaele and Oliver would have filled you in. Well, lets start with the beginning. I had heard rumors of a town that would disappear and reappear without any reason, so I went to the area to for my own intentions. An Akuma was there, currently a level 1 at the time, and I was easily about to dispatch it when it became a machine gun toting monster. As it tried to destroy me, it nearly gotten Ms. Kaele who I had saved," started Masque as he began his story.

*As soon as he started, Sparks grabbed a notebook and pen and handed it to Kimiko to record some notes.

Meanwhile, Toshi was getting somewhat impatient outside, waiting for the door to open again.*

Kimiko blinked, fumbled with the pen a little, but then began to quickly scribble down notes about Masque's story. She was somewhat aggitated about Masque ignoring her, but she quickly got over that. She didn't get mad easily, and if she did it was only for a short moment. She was a generally happy person. Well, she TRIED to be happy at least.
She continued to write on the paper, listening intently to write down the details.

"Eventually, it had managed to knock me down, but not before I had gotten the young Exorcist to safety. But it had also knocked my face off, which in turn made me tired of dodging bullets. When this happened, Kaele had kicked the Akuma away in my defense. But as he sent another wave of bullets at us, I jumped in front of Kaele and used my cape to teleport all the bullets at the Akuma, destroying it." spoke Masque as he finished his story about the Akuma.

"Umm, what about the well and cave?" asked Sparks a little confused why he didn't mentioned it.

"Well, you never asked." spoke the Masque in a blank tone as though it were obvious.

*Sparks face grew red as he wanted to throw the mask like a frisbee for the way he acted. This guy was a pompous ass!*





*Meanwhile Toshi was getting extremely impatient, fidgeting like crazy. Eventually he decided that since no one was watching him, he'd just have to see what was taking them so long by entering himself. He grabbed his ID card and slowly began sliding it between the door crack so that he could open it silently.*





Bookman, Kaele, and Oliver entered the security room entrance and attempted to pass the door to go into the Innocence Wing when the security guard stationed there said "Sorry, authorized personnel only."

Bookman then said, "We'd like to see Sparks, the head of this wing."

The guard then sent a message to Sparks from the desk, causing his pager to beep.

Kimiko continued to write down the details, looking up when he finished. Sparks looked furious with Masque's attitude. She had to admit, his straightforward-ness bothered her a little. Although she hadn't had the best life, she knew her manners well.
She heard a pager beep, which must have been Sparks. "Um, Sparks-san...you're pager is going off." she quietly pointed out, sure that he had already noticed.
Way to point out the obvious...!
She stared at the mask for a little longer, contimplating all the things that were happening and had happened. It seemed impossible that a mask could be the source of life for this man, but there were no other theories to turn to to prove it wrong.

*The now red Sparks had jumped after hearing his beeper go off after assuming it had been dead after its lack of use. It was the security desk. Then he heard Kimiko-san talk about his beeper. Too bad he was still flustered.*

"I know its going off! I can hear it!" shouted Sparks loudly.

*Then, he realized she was only trying to help and felt awfully bad.*

"I'm sorry, Kimiko. You didn't deserve to be yelled at. My beeper just caught me off-guard." sighed Sparks as he placed his hand on her shoulder before heading for the door.

"Tsk, tsk." spoke Masque arrogantly, "Yelling at a young lady without reason. What sort of person are you?"

"Gragh!" grunted Sparks (his back to both Kimiko and Masque) as he raised his twitching hands, ready to strangle the guy in the tank.

*He calmed down, then opened the door, causing Toshi, who had been trying to break in with his keycard, to fall onto Sparks, forcing him to fall backward, just missing Kimiko.*




*Meanwhile, Bookman looked at a nearby clock, wondering what was taking so long.*

Kimiko had flinched a little when Sparks yelled, but calmed down. She knew that he was sorry, and she believed that he was doing his best to figure all of this out and process it all.
She also knew that Masque was pushing him to the limit, the way he had raised his hands and all.
She was also a little shocked when Toshi fell in at the door, onto Sparks, pushing them both back: she'd almost forgotten he was still out there. She looked at the both of them, blinking.
"S-Sparks-san, are you alright? And Toshi! We're you eavesdropping? That's not very polite, you know."
She blinked again, glancing back at the mask for a moment. This was all insane. There was no way it was real. But it was, so she couldn't deny it. She turned her focus back to Sparks and Toshi, a little bit concerned.
