France - Rise of the Dead General

*Masque lay resting on the rooftop as he glanced through the local paper. There was a little blurb about the dead general Napoleon, but he didn't pay much mind to it as he turned the page. He'd gotten there by morning, and right now he was tired and drowsy. He placed the paper down as he rolled over to sleep.*

(( This is about 6 months after whatever happens in the Vanishing Town. ))

*Lavi and Bookman were walking through town, with Kaele eagerly skipping ahead. Lavi was happily paying attention to her behind, while Bookman was wondering if it was too late to find another apprentice. Kaele suddenly stopped, seeing a familar figure on the roof of one of the far off buildings.*

"What is that...?" *Kaele thought outloud. Bookman saw it, but Lavi was clueless.* "Over there, see it?" *She pointed to the eastern horizon, to the building, hoping that he saw it too.*

"I don't know, maybe it's just someone on their roof." *Lavi guessed, not thinking much of it.*

*Kaele grimaced, feeling like it was more than just some civilian.* "I don't think so.." *She mumbled under her breath.*

*Masque rolled over, his face now facing toward Kaele and friends, although it would be too far for anyone to make out too many details. As he did so, Masque's top hat fell off his head and continued to roll off of the roof until it hit the ground. Masque stirred awake from his rest as he realized his luck. He looked down at the street and used his glove to summon it back to him. He then placed it back upon his head and rolled back to sleep.*

*Kaele watched as some small thing fell to the ground, almost fluttering. Lavi sighed as she frantically ran to get whatever had fallen. As she ran, Bookman and Lavi witnessed the object fly back up to the roof somehow. The two Bookmen immediately went through any explanations they had for the phenomenon, but had no answers.*

"LAVI!!" *Kaele exclaimed, running back to them.* "Did you see that?! Whatever fell down--!"

"FLEW! I know, I saw it too!" *Lavi exclaimed, finishing her sentence. Kaele jumped up with anticipation. Bookman sighed. Now they're both hyper... I'm too old to be a babysitter.*

"We have to go see what it was! Right now!!" *She exclaimed. Lavi nodded furiously, and the two turned towards the building. Bookman grabbed ahold of their uniforms before they could bolt for it.*

"Idiots, don't be so loud!! It's only five in the morning!"

*Lavi and Kaele groaned at the scolding. They both could have guessed that Bookman was inferring that they shouldn't run, so the trio slowly made their way to the building with Bookman still attatched to their backs.*

*Yan was not watching were she was going because her eyes were closed "hey, were are we g-" Yan said as she bumbled right in to book man "oh, sorry" she said backing up a bit as she opened her eyes again wile the little Dragon on her shoulder said "watch were your going Yang"

(just so you know the dragon looks like this. . . but smaller. . . . )

*Masque rolled over again, quite uncomfortable from the shingles on the roof. He woke up and reached into his hat, and when his hand returned he held what appeared to be a small bean bag.*

"Grow," said Masque sleepily as he placed it on the center of the rooftop.

*The bag began to grow on the rooftop. Soon it was just a little larger than he was.*

"Stop," Masque grunted before rolling on top of it, "Ahh. Much better."

*He then rolled back to sleep.*

"Oh yeah..." *Lavi said to himself, remembering that he was originally only going to go on this mission with Yan, but Kaele somehow got assigned to it too. Yan was so much quieter than Kaele was.*

"Yan! I almost forgot about you!" *Kaele exclaimed, walking backwards in front of her. She attempted to pet Yan's dragon, but the little thing bit her. She pulled her arm back as Lavi busted out laughing.* "Sh-Shut up!!"

*Kaele turned back around, and stared up at the building from beneath it. She couldn't see the roof anymore. She hoped that Bookman's slow pace wasn't going to cost her an explanation of what happened.*

*When the dragon almost bit her Yan tapped it's head and said "Yuki don't!" then said "sorry Kaele hes not use to people that's aren't-" Yuki nibbled on Yan's ear making her stop talking "lady Yang not now we must Perseid; if they are your alliance then they will be mine as well, sorry for my actions my lady" Yuki said

*Kaele hesitantly let her head slowly look back at Yan and the dragon. She had the feeling that Lavi was doing the same thing.*

"Th-- It can t-talk...?" *She asked while walking backwards. She felt a little freaked out, but mainly disturbed at how polite it sounded.*

((bump?......wow, I haven't done that since.....since I was on GaiaOnline..........I think its Yang's turn whenever she gets the chance....))

"Yes he can talk. . . .did you think that only the keeper could hear a dragons thoughts like in most myths?" Yan said to Kalele wile Yuki looked around then made a noise that souned kinda like a grawl " my lady we must go out of reange a humans" Yuki said looking at the people passing by but had felt an odd presence from the shadows*

(( OH EMM GEE, I always bump! xD ))

"Uh..." *Kaele mumbled confusedly.* "What did it say...?"

((I'm trying to give you guys something to do while Masque is napping......lol.....I think I might have failed....))


*The breeze seemed to pick up, blowing a French newspaper toward Yang and Kaele's feet, smacking into Kaele's boots, its headline reading (when translated into English) "Napoleon Returns!" *

*Yan saw the french newspaper on Kaele's boots then looked to the left as a nother one was going to pass, she grabed it with her hand though it was hard to read because Yan does not speak french*

*Kaele didn't know French either, but she knew the words Napoléon Revient! seemed ominous.*

"Hey, Lavi, who's 'Napoleon'?" *She asked curiously, honestly having no idea who the man was.*

*Yuki was getting angry with the people because they didn't act to what he requetsed so he mummbled in a low maner wile looking at Yan angery but, Yan didn't seem to do anything about it*

Lavi looked at the two and answered, "Napoleon's a dead French general."

*Then Lavi snatched the paper from Kaele's hands and took a look.*

"It says Napoleon's risen from the grave. Hey, Panda, what do you-?" said Lavi before getting whacked by Bookman who then took a look at the paper.

*Kaele's face was blank for a moment when Lavi got whacked, letting the crude humor sink in. After only a split second, she broke out laughing, her face turning a flushed color of pink. Lavi was not pleased.*

"Not funnnnyy." *He whined, lightly smacking her shoulder as her laughter began to die down. Lavi leaned over Bookman's shoulder like the creeper he was, reading the paper from over Bookman's short shoulders. Kaele took the chance, and wrapped her arms around his ribs playfully in what she called a 'glomp'.*

"Oi, oi!" *Lavi exclaimed. Kaele puckered her lips and stuck them out, like a sarcastic kiss face. (( o 3o ))*

*Yan wanted to look but she was more interested in this newspaper that she could not read. Yuki looked unimpressed by the actions that was at play, he snarled wile glaring at them with anger, "can we go were there is less people at work?" Yuki hissed wile looking around getting more and more uneasy about the helpless humans about there own business*

"It may be worth investigating." said Bookman, "If there is enough panic to print the claim, then it might be more than rumor."

*Meanwhile Masque wakes up, refreshed from his sleep on his magical beanbag bed. He stands up on the building and stretches a bit before shrinking the bag and putting it away.*

"Okay, so maybe some Innocence brought some guy back to life. What's the big deal about this Napoleon guy?" *Kaele said, feeling out of the loop when it came to French news.*

*She reeled her neck sideways to glance at the small tempermental dragon on Yan's shoulder. She didn't know what to think of it, but... The thought trailed off in her mind as she waited for the answer to her question.*

"Napoleon led a campaign against all of Europe." replied Bookman, "He was stopped short of Russia, but his tactics are still studied and in use."

*Lavi looked at the paper again over Bookman's shoulder and then pointed to a section.*

"It says he's bringing back his army, too." Lavi said before he looked at Kaele and Yan, grinning, "Oi, up for a party?"

*Then Bookman elbowed Lavi in his stomach for reaching over him, causing Lavi to curse as he held his stomach.*

*Kaele smiled jokingly; laughing when Lavi got elbowed.*

"Pshhk! No thanks. But, uh... What should we do? Go and search for the living dead?" *She asked sarcastically, walking on the curb like a balance beam.*

*Yan looked up at Kaele "I don't think it'll be easy to find the nonliving. . th-" Yan said, Yuki interrupted her " nonliving I would assume they would be at the border of France, but not only the Innocence can awake them. . maybe the Akuma did this in revenge" Yan continued "so they will be more in land, but if they are awaken by anger of some Chileans' pranks or angry from losing to the Germans. ." Yuki nodded then looked up then back at the grope of what he calls kids*

"Ruining my fun with chur seriousness, Yan...." *Kaele mumbled in a pout, slumping her shoulders.*

"Okay, anyways. How big was his army before?" *She asked Bookman in a worried tone.*
