France - Rise of the Dead General

"eh, sorry kaele I didn't really know what was going on between you three. . .any way that Napoleon guy, . . . .sounds . . troublesome don't you say?" Yan said kidding, Yuki rolled his eyes and sighed*

"Very troublesome." *Bookman mumbled, thinking.* "I believe his armies were about, oh, 400,00 strong near the end of his career."

*Lavi smirked, and began to almost sing,* "And he was only 51 when he died, so you'll probably think he's sexy, Kae--"

*Kaele had stabbed her fingers below his lungs, stunning him. She smirked back at him, sticking her tounge out. After a moment, the grandness of the number hit her.*

"400,000 troops??"

*Right after that, shouts could be heard as citizens fled past the group, followed shortly by some undead soldiers.*

"... What's going--?" *Lavi mumbled, slowing down. Kaele stopped, turning around. There seemed to be hundreds of ghostly soldiers, their uniforms tattered and their skin was green where it was still attached to their bones. Kaele gasped, covering her mouth, and stumbled back. Bookman seemed unphased, but they could tell he was thinking.*

"Wh--? That's--! They're--??" *Kaele asked herself underneath her breath. She wished Allen was here so they could find out if they were akuma or if the army had souls at all. Kaele noticed something, stood on her tiptoes, and still didn't see a sign of a man on a horse.* "Where's their commader?"

"There Commander always stays at the vary back of there army, and well, . . .it was easy to find" Yuki said aloud, "yeah but it seams odd that they would do something like this, or as if they want use to fall in to some sort of trap or want to test our power, what do you think Bookman?" Yan said feeling odd, wile looking at the dead soldiers*

"All I have to say for now is that we shouldn't make a move just yet." *Bookman said calmly.* "We should wait to see if it truly is a trap. Consequently, attacking now would not be wise."

*Kaele saw the fearful people and exclaimed;* "But Bookman! What about the peop--?!"

"I think he's right Kaele. What if Napoleon wanted us to fight them now?" *Lavi asked.*

*Kaele crossed her arms rebelliously.* "Che. I beg to differ."

"so your saying we sit her and see what they do?" Yan said looking at Bookman she then looked back at the walking dead one of them was staring straight at her it seam to have a twisted smile on it's broken face Yan's heart started to pound*

((I'm back.....sorry for my absence...))

*Masque heard the shouts and then looked around from the rooftops. He noticed a mass of soldiers seeming to walk slowly. It was quite odd a sight to see around this area. He took out a spyglass for a better look, just to see that these were walking corpses. He knew resting here would do him some good. There might even be a magical treasure around here making them rise. Using his staff he leapt from rooftop to rooftop until he was near. Then he used his staff to fling himself into the air. He twirled it above him as he fell, slamming it down onto the ground, causing a pulse which shook the ground beneath the undead soldiers, knocking them all to the ground while Masque was left standing. If there had been a trap, this would have definitely been the trigger.*

*Just as Kaele felt an unknown presense, the groud trembled furiously beneath their feet. Lavi invoked his hammer and kept the two girls from falling over while Bookman took care of himself. After only a second, the only people standing was their group and a quite peculiar looking man with what seemed like a masquerade mask on his face.*

*Yan healed on to Lavi's Hammer and looked over at were the waves from the ground had came from her eyes widen a bit as Masque was standing there* "thanks Lavi" *Yan said as she whispered Masque's name under her breath while she felt strange aura around him*

*Kaele heard Yan, and the gears clicked. She smacked Lavi to let her down.* "Ouch! Jeez, Kaele!" *Lavi whispered, chuckling a little bit. His face became agape when he realized who it was. He glanced at Bookman, but he seemed to already be aware.*

*Kaele invoked her flames, making a long flat katana stretch out of her uniform's right sleeve. She called him in a serious tone, one that she barely ever used (Only in the presence of zombies.);* "Masque!"

Masque looked up at the group at the mention of his name and spoke loudly, a smile on his mask's lips, "Hello. Its nice to see you all again, I just came over to entertain, but I found the crowd to be a little on the dead side."

*He started walking toward them as a shuffle could be heard behind him as the dead began to rise to their feet. Masque turned around a little surprised. He also noticed that hundreds more were coming to joining their companions from down the road.*

He calmly raised his staff as he spoke aloud, "Does anyone here know what the cause of this mess is? Because frankly, I'd rather have a livelier audience."

*The thoughts of the 4 exorcists were practically all the same; Innocence. But Kaele didn't say anything about it, and neither did the Bookmen. Kaele slouched a little, losing her optimistic feeling about the dead armies. Even though they had been thrown down with such force, each one was eerily regaining balance. How in hell am I supposed to defeat them if they're already dead?!*

*Kaele leapt forward, Lavi close behind her on his hammer. The two teenagers landed on top of a short building, closer to Masque but above the crowded streets.*

*Lavi was silently observing the situation as Kaele spoke;* "We believe it to be Innocence, are there any other suggestions you may have?"

*Yan was still with Lavi as they came with Kaele, Yuki glared at Masque but didn't say anything other then gave a low growl sound that escaped his dragon lips. Yan felt happy to see Masque but couldn't help to giggle in a low manner to his jokes*

Masque looks at the army of undead as he replies, "Innocence, noah, magical items, necromancer's, Akuma....."

*He kept listing possibilities, though his voice quieted and trailed off. Then he used his staff to summon a large wind to blow the corpses back into a pile, slowing the others down since they had to climb the new wall.*

"Thats should by some time." he said, but then he noticed corpses were now surrounding them from other streets and alleys.

"were trapped, what should we do?" *Yan said thinking "burn them"Yuki said still glaring at Masque utterly "but what about the buildings Yuki" Yan said looking down at the Dragon and sighed*

"Burning?" *Kaele mumbled to herself. Maybe... Maybe not.*

"What about the citizens?" *Lavi asked, watching the few people still on the streets run into buildings to escape. The once bustling road became silent except for the eerie sounds of the corpses.*

"It was a suggestion!" Yuki growled angrily, Yan tapped the Dragons head "Calm down" She said angrily while trying to make a point*

"Just critques." *Bookman said plainly, having popped out of nowhere. Kaele shrieked and almost knocked Lavi over.*

"Holy shiet, that scared me!" *She muttered, the shock causing her Innocence to disperse from its form.*

*While Bookman came out of nowhere Yan unknowingly grabbed Lavi's arm and griped it tightly as she made a Q.Q face and made a low gasp sound. Yuki dug his Talons in Yan's shoulder due to Bookman's appearance*

"Ahh! Itaiii!!" *Lavi exclaimed, prying Yan's hand off his shoulder.*

*Bookman rolled his eyes.* "Baka."

*Yan let go of Lavi felling odd* "eh, . .ah. . .Sorry Lavi. . ."*She said with a sad tone in her voice while Yuki unleashed the grip from his talons*

"Well, it seems the people are all in their homes anyways..." *Kaele mumbled, gazing down at the streets where the only things that moved where ones that didn't have heartbeats.*

"That doesn't solve the problem here, Miss Nakamura." *Bookman muttered in a tone of wise age. Lavi shook his head in agreement.*

"Should we really accept that guy's help?" *Lavi asked in whisper towards Bookman. After a moment, Bookman glanced toward Masque and then back at his apprentice.*

"Before he escaped from the Order, he didn't answer our questions. And we have Kaele here, who knows his style of fighting. We could always use more data on this man."

*Lavi and Kaele nodded as the group awaited the mysterious masked-man's reply.*
