France - Rise of the Dead General

"Masque!!" *Kaele screamed over the loud sounds the akuma made. She repelled another shield, destroying the akuma within a 10 meter radius. With the anger, Kaele was unconciously wearing herself out.* "What did the dragon mean, 'stealing souls'??"

*Meanwhile, Bookman propped the young girl against a near by lightpole, holding his hand on her forehead. She attempted to stand, but failed. He sighed, pulling a small needle. Lifting up her shirt, he pricked what seemed like an insignificant spot in the small of her back.*

*Yan didn't know what Bookman was doing but as he looked at her back She looked at him with a bit of anger hoping he would not touch her back.*

* Bookman saw what seemed like a birth mark on her lintier back in shape of a dragon but said nothing just looked surprised because nothing in the books said anything about her birth mark or if she had one.*

*Masque acted as though he didn't hear Kaele as he continued to destroy the Akuma. It had become too tedious to collect the souls anymore due to the numbers.

Napoleon soon shot his pistol into the air, and soon, large cannon-like Akuma rolled near him. He lifted his saber as though ready to command them to fire.*


"Napoleon started his assault. The others are dealing with it at the moment." spoke Bookman as he removed the needle from her back, "Are you able to move now?"

*Yan stood up "Yes thank you" she said after called her Dragon in her mind ". . . . .what about cross?" and said pouting to him wile giving him a disappointing look as she narrowed her eyes*

(( Umm, Yang is in the town.....everyone else is at the edge of it. You need to travel before you can do that, plus, Bookman would come with her.))

(o.0 . .aaaa. ..Foku. . . . .>.< I changed it. . .)

*Bookman sighed.* "That drunkard passed out in the knoll. Leave him be." *The old man started for the edge of town, using Heaven's Compass to coast above the obstacles in his way.*

*Lavi glanced over his shoulder, feeling Bookman's observant presence. He refocused on the akuma, blowing a large group up in a colomn of flames. A figure came hurtling through the colomn, knocking Lavi from his hammer. The two landed on the ground below, inbetween two level 2's. Lavi ran for his hammer, but the two akuma's burst into transparent blue fire. He glanced back incredulously at the figure, not thinking such a furious aura could be coming from her.*

"Masque steals souls!" *She shouted to herself, only fueling her fury. She kicked the head of one of the akuma, the head shooting through the body of another like a shooting star with a trail of transparent indigo.*

"Wh-What?" *Lavi asked meekly as he reached for his hammer. Kaele chucked a coin in her pocked at a zombie behind him, the blue fiery chunk of metal barely missing his ear. He was frozen, his eyes wide open.*

"That. Man. Steals. Souls." *She explained through her teeth, every word a step closer to Lavi's trembling frame. All he could think was if Kaele had a bipolar twin.* "He's like the Earl!"

*Yan said nothing and fallowed Bookman as she wondered where Yuki was.*

*Yuki saw Kaele and Lavi talking abut something so he head over to them and quietly landed be side Lavi, while over hearing the conversation as he came.*

"your talking about Masque, . .right?. I don't think hes like the Earl like you say, but if he was then don't you think he would be siding with him instead of against him?" Yuki said looking at Kaele as he saw anger build up*

(( Kaele said he was like the Earl, but it doesn't really matter. Just pointing it out. xD ))

*Kaele was silent for a moment, whipping flames out of her fingertips at the hoard of zombies and a couple akuma. She could feel the wear on her Innocence, but it didn't feel like normal wear. She ignored it and replied in a hasty tone;* "When I first met Masque, he said he wasn't on either side. He's gathering souls for his own collection I bet! And he probably doesn't want the Earl getting in on the souls either!" *Kaele screamed in frustration, kicking a chunk of dirt out of the side of the road.*

*Lavi stared uneasily at the hole, scratching his head underneath the bandana.* "Would he tell u--"

"Miss Nakamura is correct." *Bookman said with an almost impressed tone.* "We should see to it that Masque doesn't leave without answering some questions. Idiot." *The old man whipped his arm at Lavi, a loud wap on Lavi's chest. Lavi gasped, not expecting Bookman to knock the breath out of him.*

*With the obstruction of battle, Masque had separated from the rest, and could barely make out that they were speaking of him. Meanwhile, the area near the exorcists cleared a bit from the destructive force of Kaele and Lavi. Napoleon then swung his sword downward, and the cannon-like Akuma lined up near him opened fire at them, launching many, many volleys from a distance, with each shot growing in size as they approached.*

*Yan came only a few seconds later after Bookman had. Yuki went start to Yan "I'm glad your not heart, . . Yuki" Yan whispered to him as he went on her shoulder*

"looks like we can't stay in one place for to long. . . " Yan said as she looked up, Yan wanted to pick up Lavi's hammer but had the image of going no were so she went over to Kaele*

"Whaaa?!" *Lavi exclaimed, his eye wide as he saw the incoming fire. He slammed his hammer to the ground, leaving a fire seal glowing on the battered grass. A serpent of flames shot out like a bullet, enravelling the smaller cannon balls as best it could as the larger ones passed through with ease.*

*Kaele gasped as one of them cast a long shadow on Bookman and Lavi. She enhanced her Innocence before shooting through the gap between the two, snatching the exorcists before they could become crushed. As soon as they were on the other side, Kaele rolled onto her stomach in pain.*

"Thanks... Erm, Kaele? Are you okay?" *Lavi asked, reaching out for her shoulder. He pulled his hand back sharply when he realized what was off about her. Her flames had turned a transparent green, turning her skin into a sickly color. He was quiet for a moment, then rushed over to help.* "Kaele, lower the activation! You won't be able to keep it up!"

"Aaah..." *She murmured in a weak tone as she curved her back, the source of the pain. Lavi pulled her shoulders and lower back up so he could see the underside. The middle stone was glowing fierce green, her skin near the stone was cracking with green showing through. He pursed his lips uneasily, letting her down softly as he returned to the akuma.*

"Jiji! Help Kaele! Yan! Help me!" *Lavi called, swinging his hammer back and then hitting the ground with a crash as he used another fire seal.*

*Yan wanted to use her ability but thought nothing would work so she got out of the way but didn't know what would happen to the others*

*As Lavi yelled out Yan knew something was wrong about Kaele but left it to Bookman "Okay" she called back jumping out from an area be hind them, and right be side Lavi. Yuki went right in front of Bookman and Kaele in his bigger form trying to protected them from any more harm that may acre again*

"Hah! That fiesty little girl lost her lust to kill, hm? More for the rest of you!" *Napoleon laughed in his thick accent, snapping his sword into the air. He thrusted it forward, a charge of zombies overflowing from over the hill. Lavi groaned, hoping there was no more graveyards near by after this hoard. He threw his hammer down time after time, but he couldn't get the image of Kaele's eyes burning green out of his head. It was so weird for him. One of the akuma took their chance as Lavi was zoned out and sliced a huge gash in his right shoulder. He made a short yelp, then switched his hammer over to his left hand and continued to fight.*

*Meanwhile, Kaele writhed on the ground, clenching dirt and grass in her fists. Her body was covered in green flame, meaning her Innocence evolved in a way, something Bookman didn't expect to happen so quickly. He forced her palms open, noticing that she could now morph objects she touched. (The dirt had become chunks of silver.) He pulled his hands away quickly, realizing that in her state of pain, she wouldn't be able to control her Innocence and that he could be morphed at any time if she touched him. Bookman pursed his lips, not knowing what to do. He sighed, then slapped Kaele across the face as hard as he could. The green dulled slightly, turning a tone of teal.*

*Kaele winced, but the pain wasn't half as bad. She got up, feeling re-energized. She glanced at Bookman, who was holding his red hand.*

"Did you...?" *She asked.*

"Go on. They need your help. I'll be there shortly." *He mumbled, pricking his hand with a needle.*

*Kaele sighed, grabbing the chunk of silver in her hand. She squeezed it, but nothing happened. Her flames had turned blue again and the pain was gone. She crossed her arms as she prepared for a large attack. That was useless! I didn't even really learn anything!*

*When Lavi let out a yelp Yan called his name but nothing seamed to come out Yan took out her swords and cut the Akuma in half with anger "are you okay Lavi?" She said a few seconds later while she put one sword in the ground then took off the first layer of her over sized right slave (her every day clothes) and went over to Lavi and tied it on his shoulder, to stop the bleeding for now.*

*Yan grabbed her sword again waiting for the undead to show there decade faces*

*Lavi slammed his hammer down on a large mass of akuma, the reverberations shaking through his body, causing his arm to throb. He winced, gripping it tighter. He felt a gentle touch, and glanced over to see Yan wrapping the wound with her sleeve. He gasped while he blushed, trying to keep up the macho act.*

"Ack! Yan, you don't have to..! I'm fine, really..." *She had already gone back to fighting by the time he'd exclaimed it. His arm did feel better, the pressure made it so he could at least use his left hand with more power. (Even though he couldn't use the hammer with his left as well as he could with his right.) Lavi picked up the tiny hammer, commanding it to grow as Napoleon's latest charge seemed to never end.*

*Yan smiled at Lavi, "you can thank me later" She called back while cuting more Akuma and undead*

*Masque did his best to handle the assault, but it kept coming. Where the hell was the source?! Fire, Ice, Lightening, Earth. No matter how he killed them, more kept coming. There had to be something he could grab to at least slow the waves coming at them.

Lavi was getting wearier as the battle unfolded more. And soon, more cannons fired at them, growing again. Lavi took his hammer and slammed the shots away, into Akuma charging them, clearing large groups, including a path to Napoleon.*

"Oi! Yang, Kaele! Get to Napoleon!" he said as he continued whacking the cannon shots he could get into everything else, including a group headed toward Masque, giving him a break.

*Masque took advantage of this as he looked in his hat for something.*

"Okay!" *Kaele sang, before her tone dropped at the end of the word, remembering the souls thing. She sighed, lithely leaping towards Napoleon like a cat of prey. Napoleon straightened his jaw when he saw her, not knowing what to think of the blue flames coming off her like a tail to a comet. Kaele leapt towards him, slapping his sword away with ease and snatching him as she continued her arch-jump.*

"Nngh! Comment êtes-vous?!" *He exclaimed, trying to break free of her grasp. Kaele invoked her flames a little more, trying not to overdo it this time. The activation wasn't high enough and didn't keep her strength up to par, and Napoleon was able to pull his pistol from his uniform pocket. The pistol went off, Kaele smirking as the smoke disappated. Napoleon gasped when he realized the bullet had been caught by the flames before it touched her seemingly-blue flesh.*

"I have him!" *Kaele exclaimed, throwing the man over her shoulder. (Even though he was the same size as her.) She glanced over at Yan, hoping she could take Napoleon since the akuma were beginning to pile up again.*

*Yan ran up like a ninja after Kaele seeing she already got him. She walked over and grabbed Napoleon harshly and sighed*
"want me to make him K.O?"Yan said with a evil smile*

"Um... I think we should keep him conscious so we can ask him somethings. Then we'll probably take him to the Order." *Kaele said, half talking to herself as she destroyed masses off akuma while biting her fingernails. Napoleon spat at Yan, rubbing his unloaded pistol against his restraints hopelessly.*

"I will not be taken by the likes of you!" *He muttered, almost illegible because of his accent and the dying akuma & zombies.*

*Meanwhile, Lavi fought the cannon-ball-akuma across the road-way, his fire seals doing next to nothing to the militaristic behemoth. Kaele pushed a shield out, reaching as far as the road. Lavi noticed, feeling desperate and tired.*

"Kaele! Help me out!" *He called.*

*She nodded, jumping over without a thought. She landed next to Masque, who seemed to be searching through his hat for something. Kaele sighed in an attempt to clear her thought of attacking the man. We're allies, technically, and Bookman would kill me... Allen would be telling me he's attacking with me, though... She sighed again, running over to help Lavi. Kaele put her hands over his on the handle of his hammer, helping hit the ground harder and more precise. The fiery serpent flew out of the orange seal, searing one of the cannon barrels off of the tank-like demon. It screamed in pain, moving cannons to cover its wound.*

*Napoleon spit hit Yan's cheek, Black fire appeared in Yan's background as she glared down at him, eyes full of anger. Yan toke of her over sized sleeve with her free hand and covered his mouth, tied it at the back of his head "now, that should keep you mouth shut" She said with anger as she started running over to Lavi as well*

*Masque withdrew what appeared to be a whistle. It would be useful, it he could use it. But, being a mask on a blank face wouldn't help.*

"Kaele!" he shouted as he zoomed toward her, "Use this."

*Then, as he put on his hat, he held out his hand for her to take it.*


((It'll basically send out intense shockwaves in a general direction that'll last for miles.))

*Kaele glanced over, having heard her name. She noticed Masque holding out a small silver whistle. She hesitantly let go of Lavi's hammer, walking over and taking the whistle. Kaele glanced uneasily at him for a moment, not knowing what to do. She sighed, then faced the akuma, and blew.*

*The sound that came from the whistle was louder than one hundred cannon booms, and much more high pitched. Every single akuma spazzed before falling to the ground dead while the undead were running away while covering their ears. Kaele's face became pale in an instant, the whistle falling through her fingers. She could feel the souls', and the fact that they weren't ascending. She slowly moved her head towards Lavi, who was cheering her on as she stood frozen in despair.*

"That was amazing, Kaele! How did you do that?? You saved my ass!" *Lavi exclaimed, running over excitedly. He cocked his head, confused at the fear-stricken expression on her face. He then saw her fingers tremble, and new something was wrong.* "Kaele..?"

"I... What happened to those...?" *She muttered uneasily, running her fingers through her hair stressfully.*

*As Yan drew closer to Kaele she started to slow down, then hard the sound of a whistle she attempted to cover her ears but didn't, knowing that would give Napoleon a chance to flee. Yan continued as the sound rang in her ears*

*Yuki's ears went down as he knew Kaele would blow the whistle while staying were he was. After Kaele finished he let out a cry as she went to his smaller form*
